Why Obama May Be Good News for Christian Higher Education

Under Bush’s administration, the federal government became increasingly involved in accreditation for higher education, said Paul Corts, president of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. Corts and others in Christian higher education are hopeful that the Obama administration will back off from further involvement.

Russia May Cut off Ukraine’s Gas

gas giant Gazprom has renewed its threat to cut off gas supplies to
Ukraine on 1 January, saying a contract dispute has reached a
“critical” stage. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said Ukraine faced
Russian “sanctions and demands” if it did not pay off its gas debt “to
the last rouble”.

presidential nominee John McCain more than she’s helping him. A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Sunday indicates
McCain’s running mate is growing less popular among voters and may be
costing him a few crucial percentage points in the race for the White
House.
