Under Bush’s administration, the federal government became increasingly involved in accreditation for higher education, said Paul Corts, president of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. Corts and others in Christian higher education are hopeful that the Obama administration will back off from further involvement.

Dallas Couple Donates Rare 1611 King James Version of Bible to Hardin-Simmons University

kjv-1611.jpgOnly about 50 known copies of the first-edition 1611 King James Version of the Bible exist, and Hardin-Simmons University now has one, thanks to a Dallas couple. Dr. Charles Tandy and his wife, Roena, also donated a collection of other Bibles, leaves, fragments and volumes of secondary literature, some dating to 1521.
